MISSION Magnum XP Centrifugal Pumps

The MISSION™ Magnum™ centrifugal discharge pumps are one of the most recognized and trusted names in the blender pump market due to their ability to successfully handle abrasive fluids while also handling a wide range of flow rates. Magnum pumps offer a broad selection of innovative features for a variety of general, demanding, and corrosive applications. Today’s market conditions continue to demand even more value and longer life from well service equipment. Therefore, we redeveloped the Magnum to exceed even the toughest of customer requirements in the harshest environments around the world.

MISSION Magnum I

MISSION Magnum I pumps are proven as reliable, heavy-duty, low-cost slurry pumps. The 3×2×13 through 8×6×14 pumps all feature the same power end, which ensures production and reduced spare-part inventory requirements. Standard models are equipped with a heavy-duty 2½-in. alloy steel shaft protected from wear by a stainless-steel shaft sleeve, double-row outboard bearings, and inboard roller bearings. They are rated for continuous service in applications up to 200 hp and are available in hard iron, stainless steel, aluminum bronze, and high Chrome with capacities up to 3,400 gal/min and pressure head up to 550 ft. Some sizes can be offered in a counterclockwise rotation giving the user more flexibility.

MISSION Magnum XP

The Magnum XP is ideally suited for pumping high volumes of heavy slurries that are abrasive, corrosive, and difficult to pump. The compact overall dimensions make it an excellent choice for high-volume mobile and stationary applications for which a small footprint is critical. Designed for continuous operation with minimal maintenance, this model is engineered to provide maximum seal life with low stuffing box pressure and an extra-heavy shaft design.

A unique casing flow divider on the 12×10×23 and 14×12×22 cuts the radial load in half, doubling bearing life. The heavy-duty bearings are permanently lubricated to minimize maintenance.

The Magnum XP is capable of handling flow rates up to 7,500 gal/min and differential head pressures up to 420 ft.

MISSION Magnum Ultimate XP

Our latest advancement, the Magnum Ultimate™ XP pump, was developed for use in well stimulation blenders. The new pump, directly interchangeable with existing Magnum XP pumps, uses a new proprietary blend of material combined with proven Magnum XP design technology, resulting in five times the extended overall life of the pump, reduced cost of ownership, increased cavitation resistance, and an allowable pH range.

Keeping the original footprint from the standard high-chrome XP, no modification of existing blender units is needed. This model is available in both standard and run-dry/double mechanical seal.

MISSION Magnum Dual-Stage XP

Designed for use in well stimulation blenders, our dual-stage XP uses a two-stage configuration to extends the life of the complete pump in two ways. The dual-impeller design enables optimal performance at 1,000 rpm, which reduces erosion wear rates by up to 75% compared to traditional single-stage designs operating at 1,400 rpm. In addition, the lower speed minimizes the effect of cavitation that occurs in most blender operations, therefore helping prolong pump life. Many existing blender units can use the new pump with very little to no modification required to the trailer.

Seal Guard Protection System

When discharge pumps fail, the root cause is often attributed to lack of lubrication to mechanical seals, which causes heat checking on the seal faces. The extreme precision of mechanical seals leaves no room for oversights. Without proper lubrication for as little as 10 seconds, your discharge pump will likely experience catastrophic failure and shut down your operations.

The Seal Guard™ mechanical seal protection system provides a backup fluid layer, allowing the pump to run dry for short periods without failing. By trapping a thin pocket of barrier fluid in the stuffing box, the Seal Guard provides a reliable backup measure to ensure your centrifugal pump achieves its full life potential.

This solution is compatible with new MISSION™ Magnum™ Ultimate and Dual-Stage XP pumps and can be added on to used pumps. The Seal Guard is easy to use and maintain in the field and brings peace of mind to the operator. This field-proven technology is built to last, and repairs or maintenance are simple, providing the last pump enhancement you’ll ever need.

Some sizes can be offered in a counterclockwise rotation giving the user more flexibility.

MISSION 2500 Supreme

This robust pump utilizes many of the same parts as the MISSION Magnum I. Some key differences are the replaceable casing wear pad (on the 4x3x13 thru 10x8x14 sizes), semi open impeller, and labyrinth seals for the bearings. This pump is rated for continuous service in applications up to 200 hp and are available in Hard Iron, Aluminum Bronze, and Supreme Hard materials with capacities up to 3,400 gal/min and pressure head up to 550 ft.

8x6x18 MISSION Magnum XP

The 8x6x18 Magnum XP is ideally suited for pumping high volumes of heavy slurries that are abrasive, corrosive, and difficult to pump. The compact overall dimensions make it an excellent choice for high-volume mobile and stationary applications for which a small footprint is critical. Designed for continuous operation with minimal maintenance, this model is engineered to provide maximum seal life with low stuffing box pressure and an extra-heavy shaft design. It produces flow up to 2000 GPM, and head pressures as high as 340 ft.

1780 Type “W”

The first of its kind and was the influence behind the Magnum I. This pump has a 1-7/8” solid shaft, and available materials in Hard Iron, Aluminum Bronze, and Stainless Steel. Sizes range from a 3x2x13 to 8x6x13. Most of the sizes can be offered in a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation giving the user more options in the field. The Impeller is in a Semi-Open non-clogging impeller design.

1180 Type “S”

The smaller framed version of the “W” pump, the “S” pump allows for smaller flow and head pressures with a smaller footprint. The “S” pump comes in sizes ranging from 1x1.5x8.5 to 3x4x8.5 and material types being Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum Bronze. Most of the sizes can be offered in a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation giving the user more options in the field. This pump is used widely as a Mud Pump’s liner wash pump.

VORTEX

The Vortex features identically sized suction and discharge flanges and a high-performance Vortex impeller. The Vortex impeller produces a smooth hydraulic whirpool of fluid in front of the impeller creating a vacuum. Fluid circulates through the casing with minimal fluid passing through the impeller. This reduces particle degradation and allows solids smaller than the discharge to pass through the pump. It is available in the 3x3x14, 4x4x14, and 6x6x14 sizes in either a Ductile Iron or Magnachrome material.

TurboShear

The TurboShear system reduces the cost of mixing polymers and clays while improving, mud properties. Shearing the polymers eliminates fish eyes and prevents polymer chaining (long strings), which cannot pass through shaker screens. Pre-hydrating clays improves viscosity per pound of clay, reduces water loss and improves filter cake properties. Additionally, the TurboShear System can be used to dissolve salt and mix oil-based fluids.
