Selection and Commissioning of Lubrication Pumps and Piping in Lubrication Systems

Lubrication pump and piping selection, machine testing

(I) Selection method:

1. Calculate the total oil consumption of the system and determine the lubrication interval.

2. Determine the pipe length and preset the pipe diameter.

3. Determine the viscosity or penetration of the oil (grease).

4. Check the local minimum temperature.

5. Based on the above items, calculate the pressure loss ∑P from the pump outlet to the remote lubrication point when the system is at the low temperature of the environment, using the corresponding oil and pipeline accessories.

Note:

①. Pipeline pressure loss Ppipe = (Ppipe/L) × pipeline length

②. The pressure loss of each pipe connection is omitted

③. ∑P loss=P main pipe + P branch pipe + P distributor + P back pressure + P oil supply pressure

6. Based on the calculation results, select the main engine with oil outlet pressure ≥1.5~2∑P loss.

Precautions:

1. When selecting the main engine, the two unchangeable factors, low temperature and oil viscosity (or grease penetration), should be considered first, and the main engine, pipe diameter and accessories should be determined by the "comparative optimization design method".

2. When the displacement is similar, a high-pressure main engine should be selected as much as possible.

3. When the pressure loss is not much different, choose a small diameter pipe as much as possible to reduce the time that oil and grease accumulate in the pipeline.

4. When the host pressure, flow rate or pipe diameter cannot meet the temperature, viscosity (or needle penetration) requirements, you should consider reducing the system scale and adding hosts (if conditions permit, this goal can also be achieved by installing additional heating pipes, but the investment and management costs are high, so try not to use it).

(II) Reference standards for pipe selection:

The main pipe of the system should be cold-drawn seamless steel pipe in accordance with GB8163-87 standard, and the branch pipe of the system should be drawn copper pipe (or polyester high-pressure oil pipe) in accordance with GB1528-87 standard. It is recommended to use high-pressure rubber metal hose and pipe joints in accordance with GB/T3693-92 standard or new polyester high-pressure oil pipe for the pipeline used for active lubrication points.

(III) Construction, installation and testing:

1. The host and electronic controller should be kept away from dust, rain, high temperature, vibration and other environments as much as possible, otherwise protective facilities should be used; during installation, the convenience of operation and inspection should be considered.

2. Pipelines and distributors should be constructed in accordance with pipeline installation regulations to ensure that they are neat, firm and easy to inspect. Iron filings, welding slag and dust in the oil circuit should be strictly removed, otherwise the pipeline will be blocked and cause operation failure.

3. Before the trial run, check the main machine, electronic control, main pipe, accessories, branch pipes, and lubrication points one by one according to the drawings, instructions and other materials. The trial run can be carried out only after they meet the standards.

(IV) Precautions for testing the grease lubrication system:

1. After selecting the appropriate grease, when filling the grease, the main machine can be used to fill the pipeline directly within a range of 50 meters. First, remove the exhaust of each lubrication point, and tighten and connect them one by one from near to far until the oil is seen in each port, and then start the machine for manual filling or automatic oiling; for large systems, manually fill the main pipe and branch pipe first, exhaust the air, and then operate according to the above procedures.

2. During the trial run, you should first check the pressure gauge to see whether the insurance protection device can operate normally.

3. During the trial run, if there is abnormal resistance, stop the machine immediately to check: Is the pipe flattened and blocked? Is the oil inlet of the lubrication point blocked? After the problems are solved one by one, debug again until it works normally.
