Sanding machines are widely used in industries such as wood, furniture, and decoration. The following are some common types of sanding machines and their characteristics and application scopes:
 TYPES OF SANDER
- Drum sanding machine: It uses a drum wound with abrasive cloth (paper) to sand wood. There are single-drum and multi-drum types. During processing, in addition to rotating, the drum can also make axial reciprocating movement to reduce the surface roughness of the workpiece. Most single-drum sanding machines use manual feeding, and the workpiece of multi-drum ones is fed in by pressure rollers and upper and lower feed rollers or conveyor belts. This kind of sanding machine is suitable for sanding the surfaces of board materials such as panel squares, plywood, particle board, and fiberboard.
- Belt sanding machine: The endless annular abrasive belt is tensioned on two or three pulley wheels to drive the abrasive belt for continuous movement, and one tensioning wheel also makes a small amount of warping to make the abrasive belt move laterally. The sanding machines used for planar processing have fixed or movable workbenches; the sanding machines used for curved surface processing use the flexibility of the abrasive belt to process the workpiece under the pressure of the template. The wide-belt wood sanding machine has the advantages of high efficiency, ensuring processing accuracy, and simple abrasive belt replacement, and is suitable for sanding large pieces of wood-based panels, furniture panels, and decorative panels or plates before and after painting.
- Disk sanding machine: It uses sandpaper (cloth) attached to the end face of the rotating disk to sand the workpiece, and there are vertical and horizontal types, single-disk and double-disk types. The workpiece is fed manually , and is used for planar sanding, suitable for use in industries such as carriages, furniture, and wood molds.
- Special-shaped sanding machine: Specially used for sanding special-shaped workpieces.

Different types of sanding machines are suitable for different industries and application scenarios. The specific sanding machine to choose needs to consider the following factors:

- Processing requirements: Choose the appropriate type according to the shape, size, material of the workpiece to be sanded, and the sanding accuracy requirements.
- Sanding accuracy: If high accuracy is required, choose a sanding machine with better performance and more accurate accuracy control.
- Power and efficiency: Choose a machine with an appropriate power according to the workload and production efficiency requirements.
- Operational convenience: Consider whether the operation of the machine is convenient and whether the ergonomics is reasonable.
- Brand and quality: Choose a well-known brand and a reliable product to ensure stability and durability.
- Budget: Choose a cost-effective sanding machine in combination with your own budget.
