They may have colors available:


I might boil a sample in RIT dye for an hour and see how deep the color gets.

I found a local supply house and a plastics engraving business. Both of them give me scrap acrylic. One charges a small fee, the other keeps it in a box and I go get it every month or so when they call me.

I&#;d look for it locally if possible&#; Usually makes for lower cost test materials&#; I&#;ve made a number of projects out of their scrap&#; Most of their scrap was larger than my project&#; what&#;s not to like&#;
